Cycling infrastructure in the metropolitan region: by land, by water and everything by bike
(Hesse excursion #4)An intermodal sightseeing tour from Frankfurt to Kelsterbach. The honorary cycling officer of the city of Kelsterbach, Roland Rücker, takes you on a tour out of the city, along the river Nidda, with the ferry across the Main to Kelsterbach. Along the way, there is of course a lot of cycling infrastructure to see, in addition to tourist highlights such as the Schwanheimer dune: From urban cycle tracks to tourist cycling infrastructure and the carriage of cycles on the ferry. Ultimately, we will also ask the question of how a municipality of 18,000 residents advances cycling and what role cooperation with volunteers plays in this process. There is a chance of visiting a beer garden in Kelsterbach before the tour ends near the Kelsterbach train station.
